Día de los Muertos · pets
🐾 A light for your furry friend
Anyone who has lost a pet knows: the grief is as real as any other — and sometimes nobody names it. This page exists to name it: a free memorial light with your friend's name and a memory in marigold tones. For reflection and entertainment purposes only.
Pets belong on the ofrenda too
On Mexican Day of the Dead altars it's common to find a dog's or cat's photo beside the grandparents': pets are family, and in the altar's logic — keeping the bond with those who left — their place is natural. Some families dedicate the first day (Angelitos) to them, or set out their favorite treat.
Pet-loss culture also keeps the image of the «Rainbow Bridge»: a bridge where our friends regain their strength and wait. It's an image of consolation — not a claim — and as an image it works: it speaks of reunion without promising anything.
What you can do here
- · Light a candle with your friend's name (the tool has a 🐾 pet mode)
- · Keep or share the memorial card (1080×1350, free, no sign-up)
- · Gift it to someone else who is struggling — sometimes it helps more than words
If the grief feels too heavy, you're not alone: the tool shows free support resources if you need them.
